From the press release -
Craig Martin Stellmacher is a photographer of politics and its truths and ironies. From covering over 25 gubernatorial debates to the project “100 Foreclosed Homes”, which he started in his own neighborhood. The project sparked interest from Minneapolis mayor R.T. Rybak –where one still hangs in his office and is pointed to in Council meetings. Printed at a scale for the gallery, 100 Foreclosed Homes enacts the bankruptcy/foreclosure pandemic to a near Monopoly-sized structure, mentally rearrangable to ponder the void at its center.
Please join the artist for an opening reception in the Smuda studio, just above the gallery on Friday January 25th from 7-9 PM
2948 Chicago Av S.
