This Saturday: The Best Love is Free 4 at The Fine Line

This Saturday: The Best Love is Free 4 at The Fine Line

It’s early February, and Valentine’s Day will soon be here. Some people are getting excited about various capitalist-inspired gifts and things, while others are getting excited about The Best Love is Free! For the fourth year in a row, Botzy (of Culture Cry Wolf) and his team of organizers has sifted through hundreds of submissions (specifically, over 550 submissions from 41 different states) and put together a free 22-track CD to give away to the public. To celebrate, as in years past, there will also be a night of music on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at The Fine Line Music Café. This year, there will be performances by Sophia Eris (The Chalice, Absynthe) with Sexy Delicious, I, Colossus, Later Babes (members of Hooks For Hands and Soulcrate), and Cecil Otter (Doomtree). The show will change flavors a few times but will, no doubt, ensue into a memorable dance party.

“The whole event has this real community feel, with many artists involved expanding beyond the show onto the CD and the video series associated with the promotion.” (Botzy: from City Pages Concert Preview). It’s an opportunity to expose people to music other than what they might normally seek out on their own, or might not even know about. Is there a better way to give back to a community who loves music so?

Dressing up is encouraged, and bring your best moves! Once again, TBLIF will have a photo booth and a competition for “Best Dressed Couple.” People have been diggin’ that prom-esque vibe lately, plus Barbette has donated a $50 gift certificate for the winner. Good luck!

Pick up a free TBLIF CD at the show!
