OffTheCuff-Promo_Crowd1

Improvisation is a like a box of chocolates, well you know how the rest of this goes. I guess the first one of these went off pretty well, so there is a good chance you’ll want to see this.

From there Facebook event page –

Our first go was a blast, and we’re ready to keep rocking.

This month we’ll be doing a couple sets inspired by the cypher settings of the Hip Hop world and the double trio instrumentation of the Jazz world.

Each set will feature a trio of instrumentalists and a trio of vocalists/wordsmiths collaborating on the spot.
We don’t know what will happen, and we want you to be there for it.
(7-9p, $5, plus happy hour food & drink specials)

Personnel includes:

Dem Atlas – vocals/words
Kahlil Brewington – drums
Chantz Erolin – vocals/words
Andrew Foreman – bass
Irenic – vocals/words
Mayda – vocals/words
Pete James-Johnson – drums
Sarah White – vocals/words
See More Perspective- vocals/words
Sten Johnson – trumpet
Thomas Nordlund – guitar

About us:

Off The Cuff will be a monthly event held at the Aster Cafe, seeking to explore collaboration between Twin Cities musicians and artists in an improvisational setting. Each night will feature two new and unique sets of local indie musicians from disparate backgrounds collaborating on the spot. The artist lineup will be fluid and varied, drawing from indie circuits such as pop, rock, electronic, hip hop, R&B, and jazz. The series will be curated by local bassist Andrew Foreman and co-produced by Mandy Lee.
